PROTECT – PREPARE – PRESERVE

Green Apples

Our Green Apples room caters for children aged between 2 – 3 years and the room can hold up to 20 children at a time in a 1:4 staff to child ratio. In the Green apples room, we encourage the children to become more independent and begin to introduce the extended areas of learning within the curriculum. We offer the children a robust and enriching daily routine and blend in our workshop play ethos – this means that children have input into their learning as well as structured play. We begin to introduce potty training within this age group and have had a high success rate, ensuring almost all children are confidently using the toilet before moving up the little apples ladder into the preschool room. The room consists of many different areas such as a construction area, a sand and water area, a home corner, a maths area, a literacy area, a computer area and a cosy corner. Our toy boxes are all located on children’s level in order to promote independence and opportunities for child initiated play throughout the sessions in the day.
