PROTECT – PREPARE – PRESERVE

Baby Room

Our Baby room caters for children aged 3 month – 14/16 months and the room can hold up to 12 babies at a time in a 1:3 staff to child ratio.

Our ethos for the baby room is to provide a home from home environment with a caring and nurturing routine. The babies love to get stuck into activities throughout the day – a strong favorite is messy play! Babies explore and learn through their senses and every 6 weeks we create new themes and topics for them to enjoy. Play in the baby room is a mixture of free play and structured play. Our structured play is our focus time where the practioners lead an activity, this may be performed in the morning and afternoon to ensure all babies are included depending on which sessions they attend. Aside from the focus activities, babies have access to messy play, sand and water play, outdoor play and free choice selection opportunities. We hold 2 group time sessions a day, during these times we do will do a ‘Sign and Learn’ session, song and story time mixed with flashcards. We have snack twice a day between mealtimes. At snack times we offer the babies Organix rice cakes, carrot sticks and sweetcorn rings, as well as the dry snacks we also offer the babies fruit.

On a Tuesday morning we have a baby Zumba session, this encourages babies to get involved with music and movement. On a Thursday morning we have a Spanish lesson, the babies love this! Our Spanish teacher incorporates props and songs which keeps the babies engaged throughout the session.
